[Lavi is at least no longer dressed like a GHOST wearing a MIDSOMMAR TOGA... He's back in his red and black uniform now, which might seem ever weirder in comparison to the toga, but it's fine. at least he's not ghostly white? though it looks like camille is?
he tilts his head as he enters the house, boots echoing against the floorboards, which probably helps not even a little bit with the freaky atmosphere this house has going on,]
Well, I'm technically an Exorcist, but not the ghoul or ghost kind. Or sword spirit kind. I fight demons called Akuma, and they're as subtle as a bullet.
[Though in this place she might have no choice but to pack bond with a bunch of teenagers...horrific.]
Right. And what might an Akuma look like? In case I see one around. [Dubious, considering how cosmically middle of nowhere this town seems to be.] I'll have to you two a ring, so you can swoop in and save us all.
[She laughs a little, clapping him on the shoulder.]
Well, seeing as how no one so far has turned into a demon at the sight of you two, I'll sleep a lot easier at night. I take it basic chair haunting is below your paygrade?
[This place is spooky but ultimately not very threatening.]

Was it a shadow?
no subject
I didn't see if it was, no. Felt like my chair got spun by the leg.
[So why is she still sitting in it. Just gonna. Stand. Wow. Really failing to beat the white people in horror movies rep here.]
I guess I got too comfortable. Everywhere looks haunted, so I assumed nothing was.
no subject
Can't fault ya for that. I was just talking to another guy about how it all feels kinda staged.
[he'll come over and pick up the chair and turn it over in the meantime, prods one of the legs]
...No string though, so maybe it is all real?
no subject
I really hate that you're probably right. [Camille cards a hand through her hair, flipping it out of her face. It drifts back to spite her.]
You deal with this kind of stuff? Ghouls and ghosts? Spirits of swords, dressed in robes and shaped like NBA players?
[Iwatooshi is not allowed.]
no subject
at that he cracks a grin,]

Do you know that other kid? Tall, dark hair in a ponytail, kind of a grouch?
no subject
'Kind of'? He must like ya if he was only a little grouchy.
[this is why kanda kills him every day]
But yeah, I know him. We're from the same place, and we're both soldiers for the Church.

[He left the second she was not useful....]
Okay, that does clear a few things up. He asked me if I was one and stomped off when I let him down. You two buddies? You good?
[Or is this a spicy rivalry :eyes:]
no subject
Yeah, we're good. The grouchy grows on you.
[this is a work relationship only]
He's not a bad guy. If there's an Akuma around, then it's safer for everyone if we deal with it right away.

It looks like a regular human. It only changes form once it starts killing, so people don't know until it's late.
[cheery thing to discuss in the haunted house... which he's aware of, so he gestures to the cross on his uniform, patting at it]
That's why we wear these, to lure them out. Akuma hate Exorcists more than they hate other humans. Easier for us to deal with it too.

Looking to the cross]
The power of Christ compels them. Got it.
[She laughs a little, clapping him on the shoulder.]

he doesn't actually blush, but he does grin in response to her laugh, expression sliding into something more mischievous]
It is, usually -- but I'd be happy to make an exception for ya.
[WONDER WHY]
no subject
Yeah, I'll bet you would.
[Her hands slip into her back pockets and she weaves around him, edging through the doorway.]
Come on, Casanova. Let's get out here before the lights start flickering.
no subject
Camille, right? M'Lavi.
no subject
You got it. Nice to meet you, Lavi.
