[ she was angry, before. she wanted vengeance. but there's no point. she does think that camille is probably going to have to die in the next week unless they can find an alternative, grimly, but she feels no satisfaction from it. she also doesn't say it out loud, because she thinks the monster might be dormant and still listening. still, camille herself is probably aware of this ]
There's no point in blaming you. It won't bring him back. And it won't make me feel better.
[ it's not so much as a courtesy to her. if that brings sad camille any comfort. yuffie may not hate or blame her, but she also won't spare her feelings ]
Nothing helped her. And nothing will help Yuffie. Especially not with another round of losses guaranteed to be coming around the corner.
Camille nods, takes a deep breath.]
Well. I told you the bit about the gas station. After that I ran to the mansion. My partner had hidden themself under that ragged shirt. They slashed the back of his knee as he ran by. Slowed him down more. He took a bad swing and hit that firepit — sprayed some embers out. The place started to catch fire, none of us were expecting that.
He pursued us upstairs. We were on either side of him. There was a ton of junk around so we tried to keep him from getting close by throwing stuff at him.
He got my partner with the broad side of his sword in the chest. Looked like it hurt like hell. I used the chance to try...
[She flinches. Shakes her head.]
I tried strangling him with the cord. He nailed me in the ribs, I couldn't hold on. It was starting to get smokey, and I could see my partner escaping into the attic.
I ran in the other direction, hoping to draw him away from them. He didn't take the bait. I got out of there quick, I wasn't about to risk hanging out in a burning building.
From there... I'm not sure. I think they belted him with the dolls, maybe got his sword out hand. Pushed him back down to the second floor and dropped the sword on him.
[ yuffie listens quietly to all of this, not interrupting, or seeming to pass judgment, or anything. just listens. she's got one fist clenched at her side as she does, but otherwise doesn't make a peep. once camille is done: ]
Sounds like he made it a real pain in the ass for you two. [ quietly, but.... almost fondly. good ol' cloud. it's weird to feel a bit comforted by this knowledge, but... she does. that it took two monsters to even get him in the first place ]
Are you worried for your partner? That they'll be found out? Or is it.... a relief to get caught?
[ since it wasn't really camille doing those things. it was the monster ]
