Right, so I suppose we haven't broken any rules yet. I haven't suffered a dire consequence, so here's hoping. [She browses the list with a frown.] Just thinking about the kinds of effects we've been seeing during the week, I suppose we'd have to scale down what their fairy tale powers might be. A more subtle version of it.
Of the ones listed, I have passing familiarity with the Sphinx, Mothman, Gargoyle, Pixies, Dragon, Gorgon, Unicorn, Vampire...Hmm, the Golem I guess? Manticore and Succubi sound familiar but I couldn't tell you why.
The rest, you'd have to talk to someone else. Maybe Iwatooshi might know some? He's pretty old, kind of mythical in his own right. Gale, too, if you think your ears can take the beating.

I'm familiar with most of that list as well. It'd be easier to say what I'm not familiar with, which is the bakunawa, ditto, glawackus, gumiho, koromodako, mothman, oni, and qilin. Of these, obviously I'm aware of what the Ditto does, and I could maybe hedge a guess on what in the world is a Mothman, but I could be wrong.

I do think maybe Gale would be someone good to go to for referencing monsters and what they're traditionally known to be able to do, if it suits interests.
Of course, knowing what they do "normally" isn't really a reliable source of information, but if we find something else inexplicable by normal standards in future incidents... maybe we could take a guess so we aren't stuck thinking about it for overlong.

Oh, the Mothman may be a more local spook than some others — mostly an apparition seen in the dark of a big, winged creature with glowing red eyes. I think it's associated with premonitions? There's a half-assed Richard Gere flick about it called "The Mothman Prophecies", but other than that I can't say there's much to the myth.

I agree. I thought maybe a dragon had something to do with the fire at the swamp, though I've been informed that not all dragons breathe fire. I'm personally suspecting the Succubus or Incubus, if we assume love and hate effects are two sides of the same coin here. They seem like similar powers with the same amount of active time, just opposite.
Definitely better to work backwards from an observation than move ahead on pure speculation.
